Sat 16 December
The weather has turned crisp and clear. Frost appeared overnight and refused to leave the ground even at 10am when we set off to visit the Kingstons at Rayleigh.
We were prepared to pay 13 GBP per person with H traveling with a highly discounted card because of her railpass. It was a pleasant surprise when we were told to purchase the group saver ticket where for two when it is three to go. It was a strange scheme considering that SG will never allow themselves to be short changed.
It was a 40min ride from Stratford to Rayleigh. Debbie K came to pick us and we headed to the pub where we met up with LL and Rev K. Rev K was recovering from his bad cough and thankfully was well enough to have lunch with us. Hungry Horse, the pub we ate in, has huge portions for each serving. It was a good thing three of us shared 2 meals. After lunch, we went back to Rev K's place at Gilbert St to continue our fellowship and ice cream. With LL, I never have the fear of ever feeling hungry. We were so stuffed that we had a very late dinner,
To leave Rev K to rest, and went back to London. Stratford was overflowing with people and we felt over whelmed. After getting H's watch battery replaced and getting her 2 pairs of thermal leggings at John Lewis, we headed home because the crowd was too much for us.
We offloaded our presents backat the apartment and had an Asian dinner at Bang Bang. The Tawanese beef noodles, Thai chicken ribs and Vietnamese noodles were excellent in portion, taste and presentation. It was a good recommendation by Sanjana. Then it was some light shopping at Morrisons before we call it a day,
H left most of her stuff behind for use in heathrow Staycity and went back to her apartment in Arlington Rd. We would meet in church the next day at the 11.30am service where she would be playing in the orchestra.
